Actress Connie Ferguson has issued a strong warning to her followers on social media to not fall victim to scams in her name.

Fraudsters are always working on getting their next payday and often they use celebrity names to lure unsuspecting victims. Despite numerous warnings, people are still getting scammed.

Ferguson posted a video on her official Instagram account, warning her followers to not fall victim to anyone luring them to pay money or invest anything in her name.

“There’s someone on TikTok pretending to be me and scamming people for money and claiming to invest in whatever.

“I don't do cryptocurrency, I don’t do whatever online investments they sell you out there. Don't be scammed, people are taking your money, you won't get money,” warned the actress.

In her caption, Ferguson added that she would never ask anyone for money and warned her followers that criminals are advanced and use artificial intelligence to video call people using someone else’s identity and scam them of their hard earned money.

“Do not be so desperate that you ignore that gut feeling that tells you something is not right!🥺 QUESTION EVERYTHING and do some research! Protect yourself and what is yours. Love and blessings always,” she wrote.

Most recently international actor Brad Pitt’s name was used to scam a 53-year-old woman who identified herself as Anne, who was tricked into believing she was in a romantic relationship with the Hollywood star, and ended up giving most of her life savings to the poser.

In a statement to E! News, Pitt's spokesperson said: "It's awful that scammers take advantage of fans' strong connection with celebrities, but this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence."
