When it comes to love, music always knows how to hit us right in the feels. From those butterflies of a new crush to the gut-punch of heartbreak, there’s a song for every moment.

And what better time to dive into all those emotions than during the month of love or, let’s be real, any month?

Mzansi music stars Naledi Aphiwe and Mawelele are already setting the tone with their new single, “Romeo and Juliet”.

While Valentine’s Day might still be a few weeks away, they’ve gifted us with a love anthem that’s got everyone feeling all kinds of emotions.

For weeks, fans were convinced there was more than just music brewing between the pair. Cosy teasers and cryptic posts had us all thinking they might be an item.

But Aphiwe and Mawelele weren’t caught up in a love affair, they were crafting a song that feels like a love letter to anyone who’s ever believed in soulmates. Not everything is a telenovela, people!

“Romeo and Juliet” is as romantic as it sounds, with smooth vocals and lyrics that celebrate love that’s proud, resilient, and worth fighting for.

Lyrics like “Ndizoba nguRomeo wena unguJuliet” (I’ll be Romeo, and you’ll be Juliet) and “Ngifuna sibafakel’ ipressure” (I want our love to shine so brightly it looks like we’re bragging) have already made it a fan favourite.

Aphiwe’s collaboration with Mawelele brings a perfect mix of nostalgia and modern-day love, making this track something every generation can vibe to.

While fans might’ve been disappointed to learn they’re not a couple, the music is so good, we’re not even mad.

On the flip side of the love coin, Kiddo CSA is about to drop a very different kind of anthem.

His new single, “Love Hurts,” drops on February 14 and it is for anyone who’s ever had their heart broken. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there, and Kiddo is ready to get into the messy, bittersweet side of relationships.
