AB De Costa and Kyle Clark are set to join “The Expresso Morning Show” as field presenters, bringing fresh energy and a wealth of experience to the popular early morning show.
De Costa and Clark will join Carissa Cupido, Graeme Richards, Ewan Strydom, Ryle De Morny and Carl Wastie, who entertains viewers live from Cape Town and Zanele Potelwa, who takes the lead in Johannesburg.
The duo are no strangers to the world of entertainment. De Costa is well-known for his popular Radio 2000 show, “The Vintage House”, which he hosts on Fridays from 7pm to 10pm, Saturdays at 6pm to 9pm and Sundays at 10pm to midnight.
Meanwhile, Clark is most popular for his role on the award-winning Afrikaans soapie, “7de Laan”.
De Costa said joining “The Expresso Morning Show” has been a dream come true.
“This is the stuff dreams are made of ... After 14 years in radio, doing TV has always been a dream, and I believe this opportunity is arriving at the perfect time in my career.
“I’m eager to connect with fellow South Africans every morning and share in their lives,” said De Costa.
Clark added that after years of “standing in queues and submitting audition videos” joining the ‘Expresso’ family felt like a homecoming.
“I grew up watching ‘Expresso’ before school, and now, to be part of that journey is surreal. This moment means everything to me and my family - it truly feels like a blessing.”
Shanitha Rathilal Bhageloo, head of genre for SABC Video Entertainment, said: “It’s an exciting time for ‘Expresso’ ... Kyle’s resilience and AB De Costa’s talent will definitely bring a fresh vibe to ‘Expresso’.
“It’s great to see new talent being nurtured and we are happy to create a space for their stories and energy ...”
Dichaba Phalatse, marketing manager for SABC Video Entertainment, added that the two will bring a wealth of broadcast experience and charisma to the show.
