According to Fifa, the 2018 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony will have a slightly different format compared to previous editions of the tournament, with a particular focus on musical acts.

The event starts 30 minutes before the first official game between Russia and Saudi Arabia at Luzhniki Stadium, in Moscow.

British pop singer Robbie Williams will headline the ceremony, and about 500 dancers, gymnasts, and trampolinists will also pay homage to all things, Russian. 

There will also be a concert held in the city's famous Red Square concurrently with the opening ceremony. 

The opening ceremony begins at 4.30pm and will be live broadcast on SuperSport 3 (DStv subscription required) and SABC 1.
