Every month Glenwood's small business community put their heads together to create something different for visitors and residents alike. Each month the initiative grows as Glenwood follows the global phenomena First Thursday.
This event is on a mission to help local businesses and NPO's re-claim their spaces as a creative and vibrant one. With intriguing activations, the Glenwood First Thursday programme offers Durbanites the chance to engage with socio-political issues at spaces such as Open Data, to view and possibly own the best in local art and crafts at The KZNSA Gallery; support local charities as well as get behind the small local businesses that make Glenwood what it is - great!
This First Thursday you can attend a Masterclass by award-winning crafter Hlengiwe Dube. Dube is an artist who specializes in beadwork and telephone wire baskets and a field worker who travels into rural areas to train remote artists. View the first ever solo exhibition by Durban poet and artist, EWOK at Spoonful Eatery. There will be special once off pop-up shop with Mooki Noodle Power merch, live music at Habesha and so much more.
