One of the biggest trends that people look forward to whenever the FIFA world cup comes around are the wives and girlfriends of the players, aka the WAGS.
These WAGS can be famous faces themselves or not-so-famous faces who love to support their football partners from the sidelines.
Shakira, Pilar Rubio or former Miss Iceland 2008 Alexandra Ivarsdottir are just some of the names mentioned that are set to make their appearances at this year’s football tournament in Russia.
Some WAGs cheer near the field, and others cheer from the suites of the stadium, wearing their partner’s football jersey.
They are stylish, confident and some of them were famous before becoming a WAG.

Sofia Balbi is the wife of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. Balbi met Suarez back when he was a street sweeper in Uruguay at the age of 15, and they stayed together when he was scouted and transferred to Liverpool. They hav a son and a daughter.
