Internationally acclaimed fashion designer Thebe Magugu is a creative genius.
The winner of the 2019 LVMH Prize continues to show us why he’s one of the best fashion designers from South Africa.
To launch his new collection of fashionable soccer jerseys, the Kimberly-born star launched the “Magugu F.C”.
In this campaign to launch the Magugu F.C ‘Home’ Jersey, Magugu featured a creative football team consisting of Clement Manyathela as the goalkeeper, Focalistic as the striker, Bongeziwe Mabandla as the left winger, Nelson Makamo as the attacking midfielder, Charlie Mothakathi on the left back, Karabo Poppy on the right wing, Yanga Yaya on the right back, DJ Lag on the centre back, Priddy Uggly as the defensive midfielder and himself as the head coach.
What’s exciting about this jersey is that it is a jacquard knit unisex piece.
“A classic re-imagined. The Unisex Magugu F.C ‘Home’ ’jersey features the Sisterhood Orb emblazoned on the torso and an embroidered emblem on the chest.
“Knitted in a breathable viscose yarn, this jersey features a ribbed collar and v-neck design piped in baby blue for a flattering contrast,” read the jersey’s description.
The designer recently launched his SS25 collection titled “Reparations”, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week.
“The collection is an act of reconciliation with Thebe’s previously estranged father, who has roots in Malawi,” read a statement from the brand.
