Durban - Three people were left critically injured after two cars collided on the N2 just after the KwaMashu/M25 off-ramp on Saturday night.

According to Netcare 911, reports indicate that the two-car collision resulted in one of the vehicles rolling several times before coming to rest at the side of the road.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst says when medics arrived on scene, they found that three people had sustained critical injuries after they were flung from one of the vehicles during the crash.

Herbst says another passenger from the second car sustained moderate injuries.

“It was alleged that the first car was an Uber driver transporting two passengers home.

“On scene was Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, Durban Metropolitan Police Services, KZN VIP and the South African Police Services,” said Herbst.

He added that Netcare 911 emergency care practitioners treated the patients at the scene before transporting them to hospital for further care.
