David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay are planning an American road trip on their motorcycles.
The soccer star and the TV chef - both big bike enthusiasts - will be riding 611km along the fabled Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
Ramsay will be on his $30 000 (R250 000 ) Harley-Davidson, while Beckham will ride the one-of-a-kind custom you see above, builtfor him by the Garage Company’s Yoshi Kosaka.
It’s based on a 1940 Harley-Davidson WL frame with a 1934 Springer front end and has a brand new S&S ‘93 Knuckelhead replica engine with electric starter and five-speed gearbox. Kosaka says Beckham wanted it to look ‘old and unfinished’ and the bike took him a year to build.
We don’t know how comfortable he’s going to be, though...
Apparently this is going to be a 'boys only' trip, with a couple of pit stops on the way to make it a mini-break.
While Beckham lives in Los Angeles with his wife Victoria and their four children, his close friend Ramsay and his spouse Tana are based in London with their four kids, so the trip will have to happen soon, while the Ramsays are in Los Angeles and it’s still summer.
Beckham - who also has an impressive car collection - has got into motorcycles in recent years (he also owns a Ducati Desmosedici RR and an a F131 Hellcat Combat) and likes to go riding with Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise.
He said: “Do I ride my bikes with Tom? Yeah I do. Tom and I have become very good friends.
