Johannesburg - Ticket sales have opened for the South Africa Bike Festival, to be held at Kyalami in Gauteng.
From Friday 27 May to Sunday 29 May the newly renovated circuit will open its gates to visitors for three days of live music and entertainment, leisure pursuits and all things motorcycling.
More than 10 motorcycle brands will have displays of their bikes and accessories and offer test rides, while other festival highlights include a custom-bike build contest, motorcycle stunts, and a childrens’ adventure zone and riding school.
Food and drinks will be in plentiful supply.
Visitors will be able to test ride the latest models on the track throughout the weekend - which is what makes this motorcycle show so special. These include Suzuki’s new GSX-S1000FA and DL1000, the new Honda Africa Twin and VFR1200X, Ducati’s 1299 Panigale S and X Diavel, the Kawasaki ZX14-R and the new ZX-10R.
Triumph will have its new Tiger Explorer and Bonneville classic retro range, and Yamaha its R1, R6 and R3A models. BMW will also have its S1000 XR and S1000 RR available for test rides over the weekend. A full list of test makes and models will be announced in the coming weeks, along with how you can pre-register to ride.
Organisers have made space for a Ladies Indulgence area filled with mini manicures, cocktails, nail art and a viewing area of the circuit on the pit-roof terrace.
MASS RIDE
There will be a charity ride on the Sunday in aid of Community Lead Animal Welfare which will include a short ride around Johannesburg, ending with two laps around the circuit.
Standard ticket prices for the SA Bike Festival are R190 per person, R600 for a family (two adults and two teens), and R950 per person for the VIP Pit Roof Village, which gives visitors a 180-degree view of the festival along with a buffet lunch and drinks. Children under 12 get in free.
