Mercedes-AMG already offers the widest selection of V12s in the car business and now that candy store experience is being enhanced with the first-ever S65 Cabriolet.
Until now if you wanted to experience AMG's potent V12 in open-top form you had to opt for the two-seat SL65 roadster, but the recent addition of an S-Class Cabriolet body style means four people can now experience the hurricane-in-hair sensation.
That said, there's probably enough power to blow your heads off completely, with the hand-assembled 6-litre twin-turbo V12 pushing 463kW at 4800 - 5400rpm and 1000Nm from 2300. That, says its creator, is enough for a 4.1-second 0-100km/h pounce and if you opt for the 'Driver's Package' the top speed nanny shifts from 250km/h to 300km/h.
Power goes to the rear wheels through AMG's seven-speed 'Speedshift' auto with three driving modes and to find the best ride-handling balance, the S65 has a sport-tuned Airmatic air suspension system.
When you need to shut the weather out, there's a multi-layered soft top, available in black, dark blue, beige or red and the mechanism is capable of doing its closing trick in just 17 seconds.
The cosy cabin has sport seats covered in Designo nappa leather with a model-specific diamond pattern and there's an intelligent climate control system that knows whether the top's up or down.
If you're braving the cold with it down, you can also call on the Airscarf neck-heating system and Aircap automatic wind-shielding system.
