Mrs Mike Tindall, better known as Land Rover ambassador Zara Phillips, has become the very first Range Evoque owner.
Land Rover UK marketing director Laura Schwab handed over the metallic grey, five-door, 2.2-litre turbodiesel Evoque at the Burghley Horse Trials, where the wife of the England rugby captain was competing.
Zara, as excited as any new-car owner, said: "I grew up around Land Rovers and I've been an ambassador for the brand for several years. The new Evoque looks absolutely fantastic and I love being the first person to get one!"
Schwab commented: "Zara's been excited about the Evoque ever since she saw the first pictures more than a year ago and she was one of the very first people to order one."
The Evoque officially goes on sale this week, with launch events at UK dealers scheduled for Thursday, September 8. Non-royal customer will start taking delivery of their cars from Friday: more than 20 000 are already on order worldwide.
