Pretoria - For a quarter of a century the Land Rover Discovery has represented adventure - the ability to go virtually anywhere with confidence.
First launched in September 1989 and now in its fourth distinct generation, more than a million Discoverys have been built, and there's hardly a spot on the planet that hasn't been touched by it.
Celebrating all this is the XXV Limited Edition, based on the 2014 upgrade - including the revised front end and 183kW 3.0 SDV6 SE turbodiesel engine - but with a raft of extra features.

The exterior package comprises a special grille with black surround and dark grey mesh, an XXV 'ingot' on the rear door, 20" forged rims, a stainless-steel rear bumper tread plate, full-length roof rails, and the choice of silver, grey, black or white paintwork.
The interior features special Windsor leather, which extends to the dashboard top, instrument binnacle, door roll tops, armrests and door pulls, either in medium grey (for the first time on a Discovery) or black, or a combination of the two.
The steering wheel is trimmed in glossy wood and ebony leather with grey contrast stitching, the centre console and gear selector surround are finished in a combination of gloss black trim and veneer, and there are bright finishers on the shift paddles and the top of the Drive Select knob.
And you'll find the XXV logo embossed in the front headrests, on the centre console and the luxury-mats.
