Durban – The domestic Ram Slam T20 play-off between the Dolphins and Titans will be played on Thursday, after persistent rain throughout the day forced the match to be abandoned at Kingsmead, in Durban, on Wednesday.
The covers had blanketed the square for the entire day due to constant drizzle, which became heavier as the evening progressed beyond the scheduled 6pm start.
That left umpires Adrian Holdstock and Ian Howell little choice after the pair had made regular visits to the outfield to assess conditions.
A reserve day had been put into place by Cricket South Africa, allowing the match to now be played 24 hours later.
The Dolphins ended second in the league phase of the competition and are hosting the Pretoria side after they ended third with the Cape Cobras awaiting the winner in final, which they will host at Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday. – Sapa
