Durban - KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union CEO Pete de Wet recently confirmed that Dolphins all-rounder Robbie Frylinck was involved in an altercation with another cricketer (whose name is known to IOL), following the Sunfoil 3-Day Cup competition in Cape Town.

The incident took place when the players were being transported to the airport.

For now, captain Frylinck has been placed under suspension pending an investigation into his conduct.

A source known to IOL revealed that an independent hearing will take place on Thursday. Frylinck will apparently appear before the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union's disciplinary committee to answer to a charge of assault.

When the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union was asked the name of the player involved, they refused to comment. They also refused to comment when provided with the name of the player.

However, de Wet told ESPNcricinfo that, "I cannot elaborate on the details except to say that this is in no way linked to the CSA investigation into match-fixing."
