East London - A Heino Kuhn ton helped Titans to a seven-wicket bonus-point win at Warriors on Friday and an unexpected South African One-day Cup play-off place.

Trailing Warriors by nine points with two league rounds left, Titans triumphed twice within three days while the eastern Cape team lost twice.

Both franchises finished on 24 points and Titans claimed the third knockout place because they won more round-robin fixtures.

Former national team batsman Ashwell Prince top scored with 74 as Warriors posted 249 at Buffalo Park in Indian Ocean city East London.

Knowing they had to win and secure a bonus point, Kuhn and Francois le Clus built a 153-run first-wicket partnership for Titans before being separated.

Kuhn struck 13 fours and Le Clus one six and nine fours off an attack in which only 'Rusty' Theron (2-43) was successful.

JJ Pienaar (44 not out) also impressed with the bat for Titans, who reached the bonus-point target of 250 runs in 40 overs with seven balls to spare.

Imraan Khan (71), Cody Chetty (66) and Khaya Zondo (59 not out) half centuries helped Dolphins reach 283-6 at Kingsmead in Durban.

Only Stiaan van Zyl (69) impressed with the bat for Cobras and they were all out for 212 as Dolphin Craig Alexander (5-42) returned career-best figures.

Knights crushed Lions by eight wickets at the Wanderers in a Johannesburg clash of the bottom teams, who secured just four wins between them in 20 outings. - Sapa-AFP
