Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa says its former chief executive has failed in an appeal against his firing for paying himself and others unauthorized bonuses.
CSA says Majola's challenge to his firing last year was dismissed by the Labour Court in South Africa on Thursday.
Majola lost his job in October when a disciplinary panel found him guilty of nine charges relating to the misuse of CSA funds. The panel said he had paid unauthorized bonuses to himself and other staff members with money from South Africa's hosting of the 2009 Indian Premier League tournament.
Majola withdrew from the hearing a year ago, questioning its legitimacy. CSA found that he paid himself R1.7 million and then lied about it, and also misused his travel allowance.
