CAPE TOWN – The 32-year-old Nolan Hoffman of BCX won his third title at Sunday's 40th Cape Town Cycle Tour at Green Point.
The Franschhoek-born Hoffman won the men's 109km race in a time of 2:37:30.
New Zealand Olympian Sam Gaze, who won the UCI MTB World Cup race in Stellenbosch on Saturday, was a close second.
Reynard Butler of ProTouch was third in the same time.
“What can I say, incredible work by our boys today. It was our race to lose, but pulled it off,” said Hoffman after the race.
Meanwhile in a sprint finish Demacon’s Kim le Court won the Cape Town Cycle Tour women’s race.
While the men's distance was 109km, the Women’s was distance 76km.
Le Court won in a time of 2 hours 11 minutes and 50 seconds. Vera Adrian came second and Maroesjka Mattee was third, with both riders finishing in the same time with the positions decided in a photo finish.
Seven-time winner Anriette Schoeman ended fourth, with Kelsey van Schoor completing the top five.
