Johannesburg – Top SA cycling outfit Team MTN-Qhubeka has made history by becoming the first African team to make it into the Tour de France.

Africa's first professional-continental cycling team was on Tuesday awarded one of five wildcard entries to the 2015 edition, joining 21 other teams taking part in the prestigious race.

Last year the team made history by being the first African team to compete in a Grand Tour at the Vuelta a Espana.
