Paris – Last year's Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins and runner-up Chris Froome will both take part in the Tour of Oman next month, their team Sky announced on Thursday.
Sky revealed the duo's probable race programmes for 2013, admitting that they are “subject to change.”
Wiggins is set to start his season at the Mallorca Challenge at the beginning of February before joining Froome on the Tour of Oman, which will run from February 11-16.
Froome has also provisionally been pencilled in for the Tirreno-Adriatico from March 6-12, while Wiggins is set to race the Tour of Catalonia (March 18-24).
As things stand, Wiggins will not take part in March's Paris-Nice, a race he won last year.
He has admitted that the Giro d'Italia is one of his main aims for 2013, and it is with that in mind that he intends to take part in the Giro del Trentino from April 16-19.
Wiggins last raced on Italian soil at the Milan-Sanremo in 2011.
In early June, Froome will appear at the Criterium du Dauphine, a Tour de France warm-up that has been won by Wiggins in each of the last two years.
Both riders will line-up at the Tour de France, “with the aim of securing a victory for Team Sky.” – Sapa-AFP
