Johannesburg - Media mogul and businesswoman Carol Bouwer, who is currently probed for her alleged involvement in fraud relating to the R40 million tender awarded in 2013, seems to be living her best life.

This is after the businesswoman was seen sharing a series of pictures from a Gucci affair that was hosted to celebrate the arts.

Known to be classy in terms of how she dresses herself up, the Gucci affair was no different as she donned a blue two-piece outfit, sharing snaps of the affair with other people in attendance.

Bouwer took to Instagram and captioned the series of photos: “Supporting the arts is an act of self-healing. Now more than ever, art from our continent has been celebrated and acknowledged as neither second nor alternative to others. It is boldly a representation of who we are as people and cannot be celebrated in isolation from the splendour of the continent. I love art and I love the artists. Hearing about their process, motivations and all that informs what the collector finally takes home.”

City Press recently published an article claiming that an investigation by the Hawks considering the awarding of an almost R40 million tender to Bouwer’s production company was at “an advanced stage.”

According to City Press, the Hawks were cautioned to the case on two separate occasions after the fact that her company Carol Bouwer Productions, in its capacity as the main contractor, was awarded a tender to assist in organising the Nelson Mandela memorial service in Mpumalanga.

Documents related to the case also show that her company was allegedly settled with R39.8 million for the work within seven days.

It is also reported that the KwaZulu-Natal premier Nonhlanhla Mkhize ????????? who was the director general in the office, has also been named as a person of interest in the case, and it was alleged that Mkhize appointed Bouwer’s company without following proper procedures.

‌In 2016 and 2017, two cases related to these events were opened and were brought to the fore after allegations were made during the inquiry into state capture.

The Star reached out to Bouwer and she explained that she could not give a full comment on the allegations but she will release a statement soon as she is in contact with her lawyers.
