The Chatsworth Rotary Club hosted a successful bingo night recently, raising R100 000 for the Chatsworth Regional Hospice Association, in the process showcasing community spirit and commitment to local care.

Thilaga Pillay, the president of the Chatsworth Regional Hospice Association, said the event, at the Arena Park Regional Hall, was replete with good food, great camaraderie and giveaways.

"Members of both organisations and attendees alike were elated to be a part of this exciting initiative that seamlessly combined philanthropy with amazing entertainment," said Pillay.

"This inspiring act of generosity was warmly received by the Chatsworth Hospice Association and will go a long way in sustaining the vital palliative care services offered at no cost to the patients. The Chatsworth Hospice Association and the Chatsworth Rotary Club share a long association spanning 34 years. This bingo evening once again demonstrated the rotary's enduring commitment to the Chatsworth Hospice Association."

In addition to their fundraising efforts, the Chatsworth Rotary Club also served breakfast regularly to the daycare patients at the hospice, providing them with nourishment and care.

"We are truly grateful for this kind gesture, which will support Chatsworth Hospice Association's mission to provide care and comfort to our patients. We encourage other organisations to partner with us and explore ways to support our work. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve."
