My fascination with rare, delicious cocktails came after I tried the Singapore Sling during a visit to Asia recently. Its delightful flavours mixed just the right amount of alcohol, combining sweet and bitter flavours perfectly. Here are some bars and cocktail joints to try when you visit Singapore.
The 1925 Brewing Co. Restaurant
Singapore locals love their craft beers. At The 1925 Brewing Co Restaurant, they take craft beers to another level. Visitors would enjoy a well detailed story by staff about its origins and the fascinating facts behind the beers. Some of the beers to try include the General, Small Monster and Yellow Van.

Bar Canary
Most tourists love Bar Canary, an uber-chic poolside bar that allows you to go barefoot and chill. One of the must try items is their boozy pops, including flavours of Blood Orange Acerola, made with champagne stirred with Aperol and Angostura bitters, which is sour and bittersweet all at once.
Address: 270 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238857
FRESH!
FRESH! is a laid-back bar that serves a good mix of clever cocktails and crafty liquor blends, as well as good beers and other premium pours. Located on the second floor of The Sultan, it pays homage to music of the 90s and early 00s. This bar serves a twist of the Singapore Sling called Xin Jia Po Sling, made with smoked Bankes Gin, Sloe Gin, Cointreau, Dom Benedictine, pineapple juice and Tiger Beer.

Hopscotch Bar
Tucked away within the courtyard of the Red Dot Traffic building, Hopscotch makes Singapore-style craft cocktails. Hopscotch specialises in bespoke cocktails, crafting artisanal tipples perfectly suited to your palate. They say on their site, “Decide what flavours strike your fancy for the night, and let us take care of the rest.” Some of the drinks to try include the Fire Roasted O.F, Mad Men Long Island Tea and Dai Gor Dai.
