Cathay Dragon has announced that it will commence a new four-times-weekly service between Hong Kong and Nanning in Guangxi beginning 8 January 2018, further strengthening the airline’s network in mainland China and internationally.
Known as the “Green City” on account of the abundance of lush tropical greenery that is a hallmark of this regional capital of over seven million people, Nanning is an important economic hub and China’s gateway to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The city also hosts the annual China-ASEAN Expo.
The new service will be operated by the airline's fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration.
In addition to connecting passengers from around the world into culturally diverse Nanning, the latest destination launch will offer passengers from southern China more options when connecting to Cathay Dragon’s extensive regional network or the international network of Cathay Pacific through Hong Kong.
Cathay Pacific’s South African country manager, Ashish Kapur, said: “We are very pleased to add Nanning to our growing mainland China network. The city is becoming an increasingly important business and tourism destination and we are excited to provide our South African customers with a wider choice of travel options and convenience.
“The launch of the new route also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to boosting Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s largest international aviation hub.” The flight schedule for the Hong Kong – Nanning (NNG) service from 8 January 2018 is as follows:
