Manila - A music cafe in Manila has put free ukulele lessons on the menu, alongside coffee and cake, to provide customers with some alternative entertainment.
Visitors to the cafe, opened in the Filipino capital last year by a fan of the four-stringed instrument, can bring their own ukulele, rent one of the many colourful ones that decorate the outlet or listen to instructors play.
Ukuleles are said to have originated in Hawaii in the 19th century and are known for their small, four-stringed body adapted from a Portuguese guitar-like instrument.
