On Tuesday, Cape Town’s world champ surfers Jordy Smith, MIchael 'Mikey' February and Frank Solomon joined Wesgro to unveil the brand new #ItsAllStillHere tourism campaign.

The campaign – which begins with 3 short, sharable videos – profiles the Cape’s top surfing talent, natural splendor, and top-notch surf conditions. It acknowledges our region has suffered its worst drought ever, but shows how we’ve got through the crisis and our extraordinary destination is “all still here”.

Each video features an acclaimed local surfer explaining their personal relationship with water internationally, and the way the recent drought affected not merely them, however the province altogether.

The message across all 3 videos is really a clear proactive approach: Cape Town and the Western Cape is a leading destination for responsible tourism, and adventure tourism, with among the best surfing conditions on earth, and is open for business.

In the films, our surf spots provide a taste of our world-class scenery and attractions, and show our breath-taking adventure tourism experiences are here and that Cape Town are still looking forward to tourists from around South Africa and the global world.

Wesgro CEO Tim Harris, commented: “Because the tourism, investment and trade promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape, we wished to use our most influential young ambassadors, who travel the planet to surf, to remind global travellers how special this destination is".

Harris added: “We have been grateful to Jordy immensely, Mikey and Frank who took part in the campaign cost-free".

Jordy, Frank and Mikey were ideal ambassadors for the faces of the campaign considering their achievements and extensive social media marketing influence and reach, and passion for the province.

Jordy Smith is hailed as South Africa’s top surfer & most successful – currently ranked fourth in the global world and finishing runner-up on the planet Surf League table twice.
