AS the frantic search for missing baby Kai-isha Meniers continues - new details have emerged with a description of the woman seen walking off with the newborn.

Little Kai-isha was snatched on Saturday outside a shop in Bishop Lavis by an unknown female who took her out of her pram while her mother was shopping.

Western Cape Missing Persons Unit founder Candice van der Rheede said according to information they received the suspect was last seen getting into a car with the baby.

Van Der Rheede said: “The suspect is very light of complexion, with a big forehead. She has hazel brown/ green eyes, however, this could also be contact lenses.

“She is slender and tall, about 1.7 metres, and has a thin face with neat eyebrows and lots of pimples.”

She said: “After the baby was taken, the suspect then proceeded to walk down Arthur Abrahams road and the baby who was covered in a pink blanket was now covered in a blue blanket.”

Van der Rheede added that the suspect had told the baby’s mother that she was pregnant. But no longer had a pregnant-looking belly when she was spotted walking off.

“Which leads me to believe that she had hidden that blue blanket under her clothes to make (herself) look pregnant.

“As she walked down Arthur Abrahams road, she stopped to ask someone for the address as her driver was taking too long and she booked an (e-hailing service),” she explained.

Van der Rheede explained that the woman later got into a private vehicle.

“The car was a silver Toyota Corolla which had clear windows and a cracked licence plate. The driver was an African male, who is very dark (in) complexion with short hair,” she said.

Police have requested anyone with information to contact Bishop Lavis FCS sergeant Buqa on 082 559 4598.
